Amanda Morgera Walsh

Associate Attorney | Heidell Pittoni Murphy and Bach LLP

Amanda Morgera Walsh, an accomplished attorney in medical malpractice defense, has aspired to pursue the legal field since she was young. Growing up in a wealthy town of Newtown in Connecticut, while coming from a poor background, she wanted to become an attorney early on so she could provide her parents—her father was a Mason and her mother an accountant—with a financial safety net, as they made several sacrifices to help her succeed. Throughout her formative years and burgeoning career, she’s strived to demonstrate that one’s circumstances and challenges don’t define them. “With resilience,” she believes, “you can achieve anything you desire, even when the odds are against you.”

Upon graduating from high school in 2016, Ms. Walsh moved to London, England, where she spent two years studying political science and economics at Richmond American University. This experience allowed her to travel, meet new people and expand her perspective beyond her hometown. During her junior year, she transferred to Simmons University in Boston, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2020. During her time at Simmons, she not only excelled as a college athlete on the swim team but worked for the Barbara Lee Fellowship in the Massachusetts State House under Representative Colleen M. Garry, focusing on veterans’ issues. She additionally contributed to the Criminal Justice Reform Act and advocated for the “Fight for $15” campaign. Following Simmons, she attended Western New England University School of Law from 2020 to 2023, during which she continued to swim competitively, served as a facility supervisor at the institution, and was active as a law clerk at Bacon Wilson, P.C. and a manager at a country club. In addition, she was a Small Claims Court Aid for the university’s Center for Social Justice and mentor within the Student Bar Association.

Upon earning her Juris Doctor in 2023, Ms. Walsh launched her career as an associate law clerk at the Pickel Law Firm in Stamford, Connecticut, where she focused on plaintiff work, including medical malpractice, divorce, and workers’ compensation for eight months. Following this role, she worked as an in-house attorney and compliance manager at Iroquois Pipeline Operating Company in Shelton for a year, which helped her realize this wasn’t the environment for young attorneys eager to practice law. Having that experience early on allowed her to find her true calling and advocate for others.

Since 2025, Ms. Walsh has excelled in a rewarding position as an associate attorney at Heidell Pittoni Murphy & Bach LLP, where she specializes in medical malpractice defense. In this capacity, she studies medical records to analyze whether doctors and hospitals have provided the required standard of care; recently, she reviewed 6,000 pages of records in just three day. She’s currently handling two cases representing eye doctors. Looking ahead, Ms. Walsh strives to make a significant impact on the lives of health care professionals by empowering doctors and providers to express their concerns without fear of repercussions for potential mistakes.

Taking pride in paving her own way to success as a first-generation law student, Ms. Walsh has learned that the legal field is not a straight one; with a legal degree, she saw there were countless opportunities and law school doesn’t necessarily prepare for all of them, leading her to always think outside the box as she navigates her career and future challenges. On top of her legal endeavors, she’s been incredibly active civically, volunteering with the local church, soup kitchens, and food and blood drives. She also cherishes time with her family, traveling, and writing poetry.
